How do I send a Target Oceangram? Target Oceangrams are messages that you send to a particular person by sending it to his/her email address. To create a target Oceangram, follow these steps: 1. Click on the pile of bottles on the beach. A message writing scroll will open, the same message scroll that you use to send a normal (anonymous) Oceangram. 2. Click on the compass that appears below the scroll. This will add extra fields on the writing scroll where you can input more information. 3. Enter the recipient's email address in the top field, then the message in the middle field, then your name, and finally your email address (all these fields are marked on the scroll). 4. When you finish entering this information, click the 'Send' bottle. A message will appear to remind you to validate this Target Oceangram. 5. Click 'Send' one more time, the system will immediately send you an email to the email address you provided in the last field of the Target Oceangram. This is the validation email. Inside this email you will find a link that you have to click in order to send your message to the recipient. 6. Click the link inside the email. You will see a confirmation that the Target Oceangram is now sent to the recipient. The system will immediately send an email to the recipient telling him/her that there is a message waiting for him/her, with instructions on how to open that message. If you do not receive the validation email or your recipient does not receive the notification email, it is because your email providers are blocking our emails or sending them to a junk mail box, make sure to look for the emails in these filtered folders. Some email providers block our automated emails considering them spam emails. Known email providers that do that are AOL, Comcast, RoadRunner, and Verizon. Other providers send out emails to a junk folder. We cannot guarantee that our automated emails will reach you. If you do not receive our verification and notification emails you can try to use another email provider that gives you control over who you wish to block or unblock, such as hotmail, yahoo or gmail, and configure your spam email settings to add oceangram.com to your safe email list. |
